How do we know God is real? How do we know we're not 'psycho'ing ourselves into believing God exists?
In the Bible, the existence of God is never doubted.
Heb 11:6
But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
The Bible says that faith comes because of us seeking Him.
Or is it all just wishful thinking? Is faith a self-induced conviction of things not seen? Or does it come from God? Are we so desperate to ‘know’ Him that we end up convincing ourselves that He is real? (Heb 11:1 says “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”)
The answer to this question can be found in Heb 11:3:
By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.
While wishful thinking will forever remain in the realm of fantasy, faith turns dreams into reality. That’s what makes it real!
Acting on your faith produces reality – framed by the word of God.
City Harvest Church existed because Pastor Kong and Sun acted on their faith.
I got into NTU because of faith.
By faith I believe that I’m going to be a cell group leader.
Let us learn to live by faith =)
